Birdpaw has been hiding her pain from her mother's passing, even going as far to ask Silverstar to change her name as it didn't feel right to be called Nightkit anymore without her mother around.Printkit: While she was wary around her brother since the incident revolving around one of his trinkets, she has bridged that gap with him. Helping to adjust with his weaker sight and trying to encourage him to have fun again.Dawnpaw: Birdpaw's adoptive littermate, she finds him fun to be around. When he moved into the apprentice den, she followed after him and spent the night in the den with him as the nursery felt too quiet without her mother around.Coldnose: Birdpaw's mentor, even before she became her apprentice, she found Coldnose to be one of the sanest and most levelheaded cats in the clan. Finding her presence comforting when tensions were rising between Thunderclan and Shadowclan.Silverstar: Birdpaw sees her as a gentle giant, a few times she picked up on Silverstar acting as a mother figure to her when Mothvines passed.Quietwater: A caring but firm she cat, Birdpaw sees her as a wise and confident deputy ready to defend her family and clan.Mudspots: Gentle, patient, and caring, Birdpaw liked spending time with him when she was kit but over time noticed how he started becoming distant towards everyone around him.Fawndusk: Birdpaw finds the new warrior energetic and fun to be around.
Backstory
Nightkit was born to Mothvines with Printkit, the two kits soon becoming an energic duo before Nightkit started to explore the camp more often on her own. Having once got to accompany Silverstar outside the camp where the leader taught her how to pounce, she tried catching a frog only to slip off its back into the water.
Night liked listening to stories from the warriors, queens, and kings. Eventually she started following Coldnose around and watching what the medicine cat, sometimes asking her about herbs. Mudspots even taught her about a few herbs which made her very excited.
When Nightkit and Printkit were older, an incident occured where Nightkit accidently broke one of Printkit's trinkets. The tom-kit tackled his sister in rage and clawed at her face, blinding her in one eye. Shocked with what he did, he paused giving Nightkit, who shook in fear, time to get away from him and ran away in blind fright, leaving the camp and soon unknowingly. Cowering by Snakerocks, when the day started to fall, she ventured out from her hiding spot, walking along the thunderpath unsure how to get home when Mudspots found her.
She stayed in the medicine den, scared of the cats around when Silverstar came in wounded, Nightkit watched by Coldnose's feet as a starry warrior yelled at the leader, tears in their eyes. Eventually she ended up asleep, curled up against the leader.
Over the next few days Nightkit and Printkit made up and slowly got over what happened, the two kits exploring the camp together again.
The following Leafbare, Mothvines passed to the cold on the night of a full moon and Printkit's vision was damaged by staying out in the cold when he was trying to find Mothvines and Nightkit. Mothvines took Nightkit out to the barn and told her how their father was a rogue.
The next days Nightkit told Silverstar about how her and Printkit's father was a rogue and asked if that made them different from the rest of the clan. Reassured that she wasn't she soon asked Coldnose if she could be her apprentice and was ecstatic when Coldnose told her yes.
However, now two moons into her training, Birdpaw is starting to believe that she may not be as good a medicine cat apprentice as she hoped. The emotional toll of the recent events and her mother's passing catching up to her isn't helping either.
